Pet Licensing

Dog and Cat Licensing

All dogs and cats over five months of age are to be vaccinated and licensed.  The fees are:  $7.00 for neutered/spayed and $12.00 for non-neutered/spayed.  In order to avoid the late penalty fee of $5.00, licenses should be obtained by March 31. If you become a village resident after March 31st, the penalty will not apply.  Dog and cat owners who fail to license their dogs and cats are subject to a fine.  Regulations pertaining to dogs/cats ownership and licensing is covered under Municipal Ordinance Chapter 9.04 ‘Dogs/Cats – Licensing Regulations’.  Contact the Village Clerk for more information on the ordinances.

Your Dog/Cat’s current rabies vaccination certificate and proof of sterilization, if applicable, from a licensed veterinarian is required to license your dog/cat.  If your vaccination is good for multiple years, you will only need to provide the vaccination certificate for the renewal after the previous vaccination expired.  If you are unsure, bring the rabies vaccination certificate with you.  No license will be issued without proper rabies vaccination certification.
