Expired or Unwanted Medication Collection
Please use these medication drop-off locations to properly dispose of expired or unwanted human and pet medications in the form of pills, capsules, ointments, liquids, sprays, drops, creams, inhalers, or any other drug no longer needed for its intended use. Both prescription and over-the-counter medications will be accepted.
The medication drop boxes are available at the following departments. Please call for specific hours:
Village of Fox Crossing Police Department – 2000 Municipal Drive, Neenah
Appleton Police Department – 222 S. Walnut Street, Appleton
Neenah Police Department – 2111 Marathon Avenue, Neenah
Oshkosh Police Department – 420 Jackson Street, Oshkosh
Medication can be emptied into resealable bags and please removed labels and recycle your own containers!
Medication strength changes over time and is not typically safe after one year. Recent studies show measurable amounts of medication have been found in drinking water and wildlife due to flushing or throwing away medications. You can make a difference to:
- Improve water quality in Lake Winnebago
- Reduce drug-related crime
- Prevent prescription drug abuse
- Prevent accidental poisoning, especially in children and pets

Waste Oil Drop-Off Site
The Village of Fox Crossing offers village residents a waste oil drop-off site to properly dispose of used engine oil. The drop-off site is located on the west side of the municipal complex, just to the left of the parking lot. Look for the large, white holding tank.
- Clean engine oil only
- Drop-off site is open 24/7
- Drop-off site is monitored by security cameras
- You MUST take your empty containers home with you
Used Cooking Oil
Winnebago County now accepts used cooking oil. This is a free service. Click here for more information
New Law Keeps Oil Filters and Absorbents Out of Landfills
Beginning January 1, 2011, used automotive engine oil filters and oil absorbent materials are banned from Wisconsin landfills.

Medical Equipment
Do you have medical equipment that you no longer need?
The Larsen-Winchester Lions Club loans out medical equipment free of charge (donations are welcome) and then when it is returned, it is repaired, if necessary and reissued. They are located in the village of Larsen behind the Clayton Town Hall.
